When you think about worship, what comes to mind first? Most Christians think about music. Many think about the lights, the atmosphere, the Sunday service. But what if all of that disappeared? Would you still be able to worship God? And is the reduction of worship to music and Sunday services the reason so much Christian worship feels more like performance than reality?
In this episode, Pastor Josh examines the biblical doctrine of worship from the ground up. He walks through John 4:23-24, where the Lord tells the Samaritan woman that true worshipers worship the Father in spirit and in truth -- not in a place, not in a tradition, but from the inner man. He traces the same thread through Psalm 51, Ephesians 3, Colossians 3, and Philippians 3, and shows that worship is not an external compulsion but the inward overflow of a heart that has been quickened by the Spirit and shaped by the Word. Worship without truth drifts into fleshliness and idolatry. Truth without the Spirit can become empty ritual. Both must be present. And when they are, the believer becomes what Romans 12:1 calls for -- a living sacrifice, reasonable service -- a worshiper not just on Sunday but in every word, deed, and decision of every day.
